CALL TO CORPORATE FASTING --THURSDAY March 11th
A CALL TO FAST FOR THE WMCU SITUATION
NEXT COMMUNITY FAST ON THURSDAY March 11th (Over 15 months since WMCU went off the air!)
from SaveWMCU.com
The MAIN PURPOSE OF THIS is to PROCLAIM ANOTHER FAST to continue to seek God for His wisdom, grace, guidance and Divine intervention in this situation. We have been fasting every other Thursday since WMCU went off the air. WE CANNOT EMPHASIZE ENOUGH THE IMPORTANCE OF THESE DAYS OF COMMUNITY FASTING. IN PARTICULAR AT THIS TIME, PLEASE PRAY FOR THE PEOPLE WORKING BEHIND THE SCENES TO BRING HIGH-POWER CHRISTIAN FM RADIO (FAMILY) BACK TO MIAMI and also for THE INVESTIGATION OF THE SALE OF WMCU CURRENTLY UNDERWAY BY THE OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OF FLORIDA IN THE BEHALF OF WMCU. As the Body of Christ joins together in Unity to seek the Lord in this, we will see great things from heaven -- in our lives and in the community.
WE ARE ASKING PEOPLE TO FAST ON THURSDAY March 11th, HOWEVER, WE WELCOME PEOPLE JOINING US IN PRAYER TO FAST AT ANY POINT THAT THEY ARE ABLE!
Some might choose to fast from Sundown to Sundown, and some might just choose to fast all or part of the day. If you get this information too late to fast on Thursday, or there is some other reason you cannot fast that day, please consider fasting on another day as soon as possible. Of course, feel free to fast additional days as well.
The key thing is we are asking all who are burdened and can physically do so to FAST AND PRAY. We need His wisdom and guidance, and for each person to hear from God what THEIR part in this battle is. Every member of the body is important. Also, we look to God for His divine intervention as He moves in His own way to accomplish His purpose in this.
In particular, we are asking people to consider II Chron. 7:14 as their guide. it reads:
"If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
-- A primary Scriptural way to HUMBLE oneself is to fast (Ps. 35:13 "....I humbled my soul with fasting...").
--We are "SEEKING HIS FACE" for His will -- His wisdom, guidance, leading of His Spirit, and so on. (2Chron. 20:3 "And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.", Jer. 29:1, Ps. 105:4, Prov. 3:5,6)
-- We are PRAYING --- talking with the Father in the name of His Son Jesus Christ by His Spirit -- not only talking, but LISTENING! "They that WAIT upon the Lord shall renew their strength..." (Is. 40:30-31)
-- We need to "TURN FROM OUR WICKED WAYS". As you fast, let the Spirit speak to your heart of any area that you need to get right with Him or with others. If we truly humble ourselves in REPENTANCE at this time, I believe great grace and mercy will be released. ("...be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble." I Pet. 5:5, see also Is. 59:1,2) Also, let me encourage you to read Ps. 130. This Psalm is such an encouragement in how God extends merciful forgiveness.
I believe the prime goal should be to follow the pattern of II Chron. 7:14, and out of that brokenness and humility, cry out to Him in the name of Jesus for help in our time of need. The more brokenness and humility -- the more grace and power.
FASTING is not a way to twist God's arm to do what WE want, but rather a way to humble ourselves to express our dependence and reliance on Him and cry out for His help and for more of Him in our lives. First and foremost, we need to submit to Him, and then resist the enemy. (Jas 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.) We are not doing this fast to demand that God do a certain thing with WMCU, but as stated earlier, we want to find out what He wants us to do, knowing that where He leads He will be with us and provide!
May the Lord bless you as you seek Him at this time. Feel free to share with us via e-mail insights that you receive.

Other Scriptures and some practical comments on fasting:
There are three primary types of fasting in the Scriptures. Some designate them as:
1) TOTAL fast (NO FOOD OR WATER of any kind) (except under special guidance. The typical limit for this type of fast is ~3 days.)
2) NORMAL fast (water only). It is felt by many that this is the type of fast indicated in Scripture when no specifics are given. If it says simply they "fasted" it is usually a "normal" fast. (Total fasts are usually specified as such.) This can be done as long as ~40 days, but do not attempt doing this longer than 3 days without some sort of counsel from someone experienced in longer fasting.
3) PARTIAL fast (some sort of reduced caloric intake). This type of fast (called "Daniel fast by some) can take many forms. Some simply drink juices, some eat only simple foods , etc. In Daniel 10:3, he ate "no pleasant bread, neither cam flesh or wine in my mouth..." for three weeks. Depending on what type of partial fast is being done, it can be done almost indefinitely. (In Ez. 4:7-17, the prophet was given directions about a partial fast that he followed for OVER A YEAR!) This is also a fast that can be used by those with medical limitations.
Depending on what type of fast you are on and for how long, you can usually continue to work and do your normal activities. Of course, however, you want to reserve extra periods of time for pray and the word.
Remember -- Adam and Eve fell through ignoring the word of God and by EATING. Jesus overcame (in the wilderness) by using God's word and FASTING.
There are MANY examples in the Scriptures of coming certain disaster or defeat turned into miraculous victory through fasting, as well as major turning points in Scripture happening after or during a fast. For those who would like further study, here are a few other Scriptures.
